Wide Gap Treble Hook Physical Specifications
Wide-gap treble hooks feature a greater gap between the point and the shank, resulting in a higher hook-up rate than other types of treble hooks. However, precisely because of this greater distance, their strength is lower than that of treble hooks of the same wire diameter. To enhance the strength of these wide-gap treble hooks, we have used thicker wire, individually forged each hook, and shortened the shank. The shortened shank compensates for the reduced strength of the wide-gap treble hooks whilst also reducing the likelihood of snagging.
